Meet Jackson
Jackson’s passion is to help, guide & mentor the next generation of young high-level athletes to strive to become the best they can be. Become the best versions of themselves in all aspects of their sporting & life journey.
Jackson has a desire to pass along his experiences & lessons he’s learned throughout his journey within sport.To teach that strength comes from within, to accept that injuries & adversity are a part of the journey, to learn where true confidence & happiness comes from, to learn to enjoy sport & remove the stress & pressure sport can bring.
With an extensive career in sport & playing at a national level for rugby, Jackson travelled from Canada to Australia in pursuit to achieve his dream of playing professional rugby.
His dream came to a close with a career ending injury. From the tragic events he has redirected his passion into helping young athletes to learn the lessons from his experience. Now Jackson plays for Queensland Suns Men’s Netball, coaches netball teams and trains athletes to physically prepare for the next level of competition.
Meet Lucy
Lucy started training with Rivals in 2019 and found a passion for strength training and coaching. She has been through the struggles of a young teen in todays society with a lack of confidence and drive to now a confident, positive young women. Lucy has a strong desire to inspire others with her positivity and leadership.
Lucy has been fortunate enough to learn coaching philosphy from Jackson as well as completing a Certficate 3 in Fitness. Jackson has mentored Lucy for the past year and she has excelled in the Rivals environment.
Lucy genuienly cares for those around her and wants to bring out the best in everyone at Rivals. She is excited to be apart of the community and loves coaching these young athletes. Lucy can't wait for what the future at Rivals has to bring.
Meet Michael
Michael has always been passionate about sports, starting in Athletics in his younger years before eventually moving into his other passion Rugby Union. This passion led him to the Gold Coast, where he not only pursued his love of Rugby but also completed a Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science. Currently, he’s diving deeper into his fascination for how the body works by studying Physiotherapy, all to ensure he is fully prepared to help athletes thrive in any situation.
Michael knows firsthand the incredible impact that a supportive training environment can have. Having trained in a facility much like Rivals, he experienced the benefits of not just improving his athletic performance but also building lasting relationships with his coaches. Now, as a coach at Rivals, Michael is excited to give back. His mission is to help young athletes not only excel in their sport but also to feel the same sense of community and encouragement that shaped his own journey. He’s here to help unlock their full potential,
both in sport and in life.
