Speed and Agility Performance Training

Phase 1: Performance Elevation
Targeted Sport-Specific Sprint Training to build the foundation for faster, more explosive movements.

Phase 2: Acceleration Development
Focused on Anaerobic & Glycolytic Power, boosting your child’s ability to accelerate quickly and maintain speed during high-intensity efforts.

Phase 3: Maximum Speed Capacity
Training the Anaerobic & ATP-PC Systems for peak speed and stamina, allowing your child to push their limits and perform at their fastest.

Phase 4: Agility & Change of Direction
Perfecting Acceleration & Movement Phase Transitions to enhance your child’s agility, making them quicker and more unpredictable on the field.

HERE IS WHY MOST ATHLETES NEVER GET FAST.

And it because most "Speed Gurus" don't understand that team-sport speed is different than speed like a 100m sprinter.

There is a huge difference between the two.

Most ‘speed’ coaches train you more like an elite specialist sprinter, neglecting team sport athletes aren't required to run in a straight line for their sport. There are so many more variable in team-sports such as change of direction, reaction time, body position in chaotic environments, and much more.

That’s why most speed training doesn’t work for team sport athletes.

As well, some coaches just don't have the knowledge necessary. Doing certain training methods because it looks cool but doesn't actually have any actual benefits to sporting performance.

The most ‘glamorous’ speed training is often what gets the attention. Fancy cone drills, quick-feet through agility ladders and technical drills that look good on TikTok and Youtube are what most athletes spend time doing… even though they won’t turn your average acceleration into blistering top end speed.

To develop speed and athleticism, you need to understand the proven 3 phases of speed development that most speed coaches don’t tell you.

Ellie-testimonial

I’ve been training with Jackson at Rivals for over a year and half. Before I came to Rivals I struggled with my landing technique and how I can prevent injuries. Also the way I pass has improved. I pass much stronger and more accurately.

I continue to train at Rivals because they focused on the individual athlete. Which was helpful because it’s harder to fix my challenges when you're in a bigger group. I loved the training techniques and the new drills I learnt, and the running technique has helped me a lot according to speed and being quicker of the mark. From being at Rivals I have improved my strength and also prevented a lot of injuries.

I’d recommend Rivals to anyone who wants to become a better netball athlete. Who want to become stronger, faster and prevent injuries. If you want coaches who focus on you the entire session and help guide you through what you need to improve on, then Rivals is the place for you.

Why do this type of training? (Benefits)

The main issue in today’s speed and agility/performance training is that it doesn’t transfer from the training session directly to gameday. The point of speed and agility/performance training is to improve speed, agility and performance for competition. However, doing speed training like a 100m sprinter or doing an agility ladder for change of direction performance are missing massive components to sport performance. In sports such as netball, rugby, AFL, soccer or a matter of fact any land-based ball sport; requires ADAPTABILITY, STABILITY and TRANSFERABILITY.

We want to improve the sporting movements. Change of direction, sport speed, acceleration and deceleration phase transitions.

Become your Best A Parent’s Guide to Helping Their Daughters Grow On & Off the Court

The younger generations of girls face more negativity, drama, and self-esteem issues than we’ve ever seen before. This holds many young passionate netball athletes back who want to rise to their potential. It is difficult to thrive when negative thoughts in your own mind hold you down, you don’t love who you are, your worth is determined by things you can’t control, and you don’t have the resilience to deal with adversity. Because whether you like it or not, negativity, drama, and politics are hard to avoid entirely. So, we must take it upon ourselves to help create strong young women who are more than capable of becoming the best versions of themselves. When you are confident and happy, no amount of negativity can bring you down. Failure does not slow you down, instead helps propel you to grow. One girl at a time, the netball community will become more positive. But it starts with you and your daughter. It begins with the person in the mirror.
